By the next morning, the lobby was so quiet I could quite literally hear birds chirping from outside. The hotel had boasted breakfast as a big deal for its restaurant. "The weekday power breakfast has been a long-standing tradition in DC, and the Trump Hotel downtown DC restaurant will be added to the list of most popular places for the business world and the Hill to come together to break bread (or croissants) with a side of coffee and a dash of compromise," the Web site reads. "The mornings will belong to Power Breakfasts on Pennsylvania Avenue at the Trump Hotel." The restaurant was empty save for three tables, one of which was again occupied by Burke....

Perhaps this is because the hotel is new. Perhaps it is because the rates, though now heavily discounted, are still expensive, particularly for the core group of Trump devotees who show up to his rallies in droves. Perhaps it also has to do with the fact that none of it makes sense and much of the hotel appears to be not actually finished.
