AG takes up O'Brien's fight against big banks

"Attorney General Martha Coakley on Monday informed Lynn native and Southern Essex Register of Deeds John O'Brien that her office is investigating alleged fraudulent foreclosure practices by the nation's major lenders which, O'Brien maintains, has tainted the chain of title to thousands of properties and cheated public deeds registries in Massachusetts out of hundreds of millions in recording fees."
