There can be no doubt that the UK Prime Minister, Theresa May, suffered a hurtful humiliation in Salzburg, Austria this past week as the leaders of the other 27 European Union (EU) nations rejected her Chequers Brexit plan... It had seemed as though before Salzburg, the tone coming from the EU was that the Chequers plan had been received as the basis of a deal the EU could work with. Maybe, the leaders were shocked at Mrs May's strident tone at the start of this past weeks meeting which effectively said it had to be the Chequers Plan or there was to be no deal.

I think this attitude from the European elite marks out an attitude of arrogance that will ultimately prove to be the EU's undoing. Of course, Brexit is a clear and present danger, however, the European continent is sitting atop a pile of perilous problems.
