Repressive regimes worldwide are picking up on this. All they have to do is parrot America's rhetoric & pounce on any dissident group they care to name. In this time of less of everything, everybody looks back to the good old days. Wanting the good old days back at any price is the definition of the right wing. It's counterproductive in a time when we must switch gears but there it is. We have a real deficit of 12 trillion dollars & counting; this is the result of wanting the good old days back at any price. In my opinion the groundswell of right wing sympathy in the country is easily traced to this wanting the good old days to come back. Even Obama has moved quite a bit right from the Obama of the elections. The sad thing is wishing the good old days back will not make it happen. Children do that. THOSE DAYS ARE GONE FOREVER. It would be better to move on responsibly, like adults are supposed to. Permalinkadd a comment | go to forum thread Note: Comments may take a few minutes to show up on this page.
