I’ve been thinking about this for 10 years, since I went to libraries around the world, poured over the microfiche images of 1930s newspapers and noted among other things that there were hardly any news during The Great Depression about The Great Depression. That’s because it wasn’t news. The Depression just was. All anyone cared about was: how do we get out of it?
