UK Economy: It's gone to meet its maker

At present, the government's problem with the economy is that it is reacting rather than getting ahead of events with measures that - for example - might tackle the looming problem of housing arrears and repossession. Unless they can do so, voters will conclude that Brown's economy has expired and gone to meet his maker.
