The U.S. Attorney's Office in Detroit said it has charged 28 people since March in a crackdown on mortgage fraud. The charges grew out of 15 cases that caused $50 million in losses, mainly to financial institutions, U.S. Attorney Stephen Murphy said at a news conference in Detroit.
