My letter to Chuck

"The fact is, letting the economy blow up once in awhile is healthy. It's like a forest fire: it has to happen to clean out the rot, which in this case is TOO MUCH CREDIT. Borrowing more at the federal level is like smothering a fire with an avalanche of dry wood. The fire's going to burn whatever we do. Let it burn hot and nasty now and it will blow itself out more quickly. Smother the fire with more dry tinder and there will be nothing left of the forest."
