"There has been a "foreclosure prevention" idea that has been kicked around for awhile now. It is to allow bankruptcy judges to alter mortgage loan terms and even to reduce a borrower’s principal balance. I have not seen a short, concise name for this suggested mortgage "cram down" program so I would like to suggest one of my own"
