The constitution says if two thirds of the states call for it we have a grand convention to do whatever the states want. The federal government is screwing up big time & there is now a genuine groundswell in the various states. The state's rights issue was supposed to be dead after the Civil War. Just what would the Federal government do if the grand convention were called? If they won't allow the convention it will be civil war (not to mention unconstitutional). The final problem is that the US has lots of enemies & they are JUST WAITING FOR THEIR CHANCE. The Fed had best consider just what a grand convention would demand & see to it before the big guns have to be brought out. Federalism vs State's Rights what a quaint old fashioned notion. Permalink
