"It's always tough to challenge special interest groups and established legal procedure, even if the challenge is noble and based on a solid reading of the law. We weren't surprised, therefore, that the Orange County Board of Supervisors lost the first round in its yearlong lawsuit against the retroactive pension giveaway approved by a previous board in 2001. In February, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Helen Bendix threw out the suit that challenged the pension spike on state constitutional grounds."
