"Countrywide Financial — perhaps the most recognizable name to come out of the nation’s mortgage crisis — is now officially gone. Bank of America Corp. (BAC: 9.18 +0.88%), which acquired the mammoth lender and servicer last July, is replacing the brand with its own; the company said Monday it had retired the Countrywide name, replacing it with the eponymous Bank of America Home Loans to represent the company’s combined mortgage operations."

I wonder what BofA booked in as good will as a result of the purchase? Undoubtedly Lewis received some pressure to buy CFC as well as Merrill.

Call Brown's office to go after Mozilo et al with both barrels. All of these crooks Paulson, Lewis, Mozilo, Sambol, Killinger, Sandler, Prince, Weil, Cassano et. al. need to be indicted and disgorged.

Although BofA settled with the state; the charges against Mozilo and Sambol are still pending.

Since Brown is running for CA Governor he should be willing to grandstand. Let's get Brown to expand his efforts.

Personally, I never received 1099s from Countrywide as a broker and CFC's rep continually suggested that my agents commit fraud (inflate incomes -go stated) I am sure you know of many other crimes. Send in your complaints.
