"Peter Schiff talks about the price of gold and a possible run for Chris Dodd's Senate seat. According to this report at Time yesterday, since markets crashed last fall, there have been a dearth of media outlets asking Peter to speak about how things are going to get even worse."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't hear a single word about "a possible run for Chris Dodd's Senate seat". I approve of the wishful thinking. Heck, I like Schiff, a lot, but what I hear from him is how to protect yourself from the crash that we're in which is continuing, not how the country can spare itself. Without a solid itemized plan, a doomsdayer doesn't have a shot at that senate seat.

Remember H. Ross Perot? He did well (and, he got my vote) on a platform of shared sacrifice to get us out of this mess (which, at the time, was a near four trillion dollar national debt, a debt which has now risen to over $11.3 trillioin). His plan was a universal gasoline tax on ALL OF US earmarked to pay off the national debt.

I catch Schiff any time there's another video, and I don't hear of any shared sacrifice plan around which to rally the voters. Without said plan, Dodd's seat is safe against a yet unannounced, largely unknown, probable republican with no elected office experience. The NRSC has too many other seats to defend to throw even a dime at this race in one of the bluest of blue states... Permalink
