Massive programs need to be cut and pension benefits must be brought under control.'' -- Alternatively, they could just drop lots of employees to half time, which would be like furloughs 5 times as extensive as the ones they've done.

The first thing to go when government is cut are protections for the weak & helpless. The rich & privileged benefit first because there is no cop on the beat to reign in their greedy scams.
