Unconfirmed but not unexpected, we're hearing that Montgomery Alabama based Colonial Bank may be in the process of being taken over by regulators today. An eye witness report has it that federal authorities descended on the Colonial Bank branch in Orlando, FL this morning. They were "in and out of there like ants on a nest," the source said. As reported in the Birmingham News, "Colonial BancGroup received a search warrant from a U.S. government agency."

We received an email from "The Fund" that and I quote "if you are invoved in any transaction in which Colonial Bank is a lender, you should NOT, under any circumstances, close the transaction, . . . unless you have confirmed receipt of wired funds." the email further goes on to say that we should also contact the bank and ensure that any wired funds can not be reversed without prior notification. I have several friends that work in South Florida at Colonial - everyone of them is currently on a conference call I love workin gwith this bank, their people are fantastic, but I woudl have to say, this just doesn't look good for them.
