"The Florida Office of Financial Regulation is scouring the financial books of now-defunct Taylor, Bean & Whitaker Mortgage Company as part of a state “examination” of the former lending giant.

It is the same agency that earlier this year was part of a 14-state probe into Taylor Bean’s mortgage lending practices which resulted in a $9 million fine of the Ocala-based firm. This time, the agency’s auditors are looking at how the company serviced its mortgages during the past few weeks, after federal agents on Aug. 3 raided the mortgage company."
