The long-term impact of the ongoing housing slump and its financial fallout is coming into high relief, as county governments prepare for budget shortfalls caused by declining property tax revenues.

In its recently released 2009 Housing Report, the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) noted Solano County cities may face $9 million to $12 million less in property taxes because of high foreclosure rates.
