Prosecutors seek mortgage fraud ring victims

"Federal prosecutors are looking for dozens of victims of a $12 million mortgage fraud operation run by an ex-Huntington Harbour resident and others.

Edward Seung Ok, 44, targeted homeowners all over southern California facing foreclosure, offering to help them refinance their mortgages. But the ring used stolen identities to file fraudulent loan documents, homeowners lost their titles and lenders were out of millions of dollars when the “straw buyers” didn’t make their payments."
