There is a reason for the Fed's insistence that the public and the markets must not know what the Fed is doing in the gold market. It is because, as the documents compiled and publicized by GATA suggest, suppressing or controlling the gold price is part of the general surreptitious rigging of the currency, bond, and commodity markets by the U.S. and allied governments ... this rigging cannot work if it is exposed and the markets realize that they are not really markets at all.
