Hank Morris, the former Democratic political consultant to former New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi, got what he deserved on Thursday, when he was sentenced to one-and-a-third years in prison for his role in the pay-to-play scandal, according to New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli. ... Morris was embroiled in the pay-to-play scandal at the New York Common Retirement Fund that has netted tens of millions of dollars in penalties and a handful of guilty pleas from private equity and hedge fund managers, as well as other Empire State political bigwigs.
