An official at the state-backed Japan Housing Finance Agency was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of taking bribes from a private-sector financing company in exchange for favors, police said.
Authorities identified the suspect as Satoru Kuze, 52, the agency's former sales promotion chief. The agency is affiliated with the Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Ministry and the Finance Ministry.
