``Germany has become the first big industrialised power to agree on an end to nuclear power following the disaster in Japan, with a phaseout due to be completed by 2022.'' -- This decision may come back to bite them. If they were truly smart, they'd lead the way in safe, non-militarized nuclear reactor deployment, like Thorium or pebble bed reactors (neither of which can melt down, and neither of which produce nuclear waste in "loose" form -- and thorium produces no nuclear waste).
