Unfortunately the description in this is wrong; this does NOT effectively legalize carry in no-permit locales such as Illinois or DC (as made clear in the bill) -- ``Requirements and standards for concealed weapons permits vary from state to state. Illinois is the only state in the U.S. that does not issue concealed weapons permits, and the District of Columbia also does not issue them, but if the bill clears the Senate, gun owners in other states would be able to conceal and carry their guns into D.C. or Illinois or any other state as long as they have a legal permit.''
