HUD foreclosed on the home last fall after one of Hollis' adult sons failed to pay taxes after taking out a reverse mortgage on the home. During an eviction, Hollis sat crying in her wheelchair in front of the home as workers tossed her belongings of 60 years into a trash hauler.
After news of Hollis' plight swept the national news media, HUD reversed its decision. But after years of little upkeep, the agency declared in January that the home was unsafe for Hollis to return.
