RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A federal appeals court refused Wednesday to order a new trial for a former mortgage company executive convicted of orchestrating a nearly $3 billion fraud scheme. Lee B. Farkas of Ocala, Fla., was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being convicted last year on 14 fraud and conspiracy counts.
