Hollande Gets Anti-Austerity Rally; Violence Erupts in Madrid

In France:

Chanting "resistance", demonstrators took to the streets of Paris on Sunday to protest against austerity policies and Europe's new budget treaty, in the first major demonstration since President François Hollande took power four months ago.

And in Spain

Violence erupted between police and protesters during an anti-austerity rally in the Spanish capital of Madrid on Saturday. Elsewhere, tens of thousands of Portuguese also took to the streets of their capital to protest budget cuts.
