Some important figures to analyze on the recent jobs report. First, over 500,000 people dropped out of the labor force. This is beyond the demographic changes we are facing. The 146,000 added jobs largely came because of seasonal shifts. The drop in the unemployment rate is largely due to the 500k labor force drop. We need 125k jobs a month just to keep up with population growth:
