"I have, for the past 35 years, expressed my grave concern for the future of America. The course we have taken over the past century has threatened our liberties, security and prosperity. In spite of these long-held concerns, I have days – growing more frequent all the time – when I'm convinced the time is now upon us that some Big Events are about to occur. These fast-approaching events will not go unnoticed. They will affect all of us. They will not be limited to just some areas of our country. The world economy and political system will share in the chaos about to be unleashed."

Congressman Paul:

You have been a member of Congress for 20+ years and you have been talking about stuff like this for all 20 years. So far, you have yet to form an alliance with a single Member of Congress - House or Senate, Republican, Democrat or Independent - to take any action on this or anything else you constantly whine about. This article is typical of your windmill tilting, you note that you've been talking about this for 35 years. You've not produced a single real plan that details how to approach and fix the problem. Not one. Zip.

Sir, you are a pathetic hypocrite and a whiner. You will not work to develop alliances in the Congress to get legislation passed on an incremental basis, you will not publish a plan to accomplish anything. You simply show up, vote "NO" on virtually everything, attach earmarks to legislation that bloat the federal deficit and give a whiny speech about how the country is "out of control". You have no solutions, only talk. Permalink

You know, about ten years ago, I thought as you did. "All this guy does is bitch and whine. Why won't he DO something?" Then I learned about the realities of the situation. This man, this hero, this political messiah, is ALONE. His is a lone voice in the wilderness. He forms coalitions where he can, but no one else votes the way he does for the reasons he does. He educates endlessly, although these efforts are generally pearls before swine. He delivers brilliant speeches before empty chambers just to get OUR voices heard in the Congressional Record. Let's face it, during his presidential campaign, he and his supporters weren't marketing a candidate, we were giving away gold. And the electorate wouldn't even bother to wipe the drool off of their chins. So remember that the next time you accuse someone of doing nothing. Examine the realities of the situation. And ask yourself, what have I done? Permalink
