Bernanke & the rest never quite get around to the basic problem here. The US is the default consumer of first, middle & last resort for the whole world. Our greedy government & it's partner Wall St called this Globalism & worshiped it as God for decades ignoring the fact that it was gutting us industrially. We cannot compete head to head as workers against the nameless hordes of Asia. There are more of them than the stars in the skies & they will work for a pittance. If our so called government doesn't renounce this Globalism madness it will finish us. This is not about protectionism, this is about survival. Permalink
