Bradenton to get almost $72,000 for first-time homebuyers

The city of Bradenton expects to receive $71,998 funding to help first-time homebuyers.

The funding is part of the Florida Homebuyer Opportunity Program from the Florida Housing Finance Corp.and will be available for the 2009-10 fiscal year. The funds will be used to provide upfront loans to first-time homebuyers and will be based on the credit first-time homebuyers will receive on their federal income taxes.
