" Mortgage demand slipped 11 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis during the week ending April 2, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association. The refinance index plummeted 16.9 percent and purchase apps inched up 0.5 percent from one week earlier, though they were off 18.1 percent from a year ago."
