I agree...if the mortgage has been accepted into the HAMP program..it should be reflected as a "clean" mortgage..99% of the time homeowners who get the HAMP modification are TOLD BY THE LENDERS YOU MUST BE BEHIND IN ORDER TO RECEIVE HELP...this means HAMP participants are FORCED to ruin their credit in order to QUALIFY for the program according to the LENDERS STANDARDS even if that isn't a rule under HAMP...
