``Hundreds of protesters picketed outside the home of Alice Walton, the billionaire daughter of Walmart's founder. A total of 26 protesters were arrested when they blocked Park Avenue in the upscale New York neighborhood where Walton's home is located. Another 16 were arrested in a similar protest outside a Walmart office in Washington, D.C.'' -- We are not in favor of minimum wage per se, but what WalMart and other "McIndustries" do by relying on public support to pay their employees less (a backdoor form of corporate welfare) is dysfunctional and despicable. If this system were restructured (for example, billing such large corporations for their employee's use of public welfare), instituting a minimum wage as a "solution" would be unnecessary.
